What the heck is a wool felting tool? If you are a veteran felter you know the value of having a washboard handy during the fulling or hardening of the felt. If you are a newbie you will learn all about the value of a good washboard. Well, this little tool, my Felting Stone, is a small, personal sized, hand help washboard. Instead of bringing the felt piece to the washboard you take the washboard to the felt piece. This is particularly helpful when working on a really big piece such as a rug or a piece that is not flat, such as a hat. The Felting Stone is hand made, in Maine, by me, of natural earth clay, fired, glazed and fired again. "I love mine! I want another one!" exclaims S. Mills, a felting artist of much fame here in New England. "These things are terrific! I'm going to buy another one to give as a gift!" declaired J. Sumner another well know New England fiber artist. Being so small this felting tool is very portable and can be carried in a pocket or bag of wool to workshops with great ease. Each one is unique. Here is a peaceful "home" for your felting needles. These are made in Maine (by me) of natural earth clay, fired, glazed and fired again.
